Yard Pictures

This post is at my youngest brother Paul's request. He took care of our yard in Corona for years and we sure do miss him! Now we have to do it all ourselves. Luckily it is fairly low maintenance except in the fall when we have to pick up bags and bags and bags of leaves. It is a beautiful yard and the watering system was all in place and most of the planting all ready done when we moved in. We have really been enjoying the back yard this summer. We have drinks and stogies a couple of times a week and eat some of our meals outside. This morning we had breakfast outside!!

Loving the life here in Colorado!

Last of the Smith visit

We went for a hike in the mountains near Estes Park. The kids did great Nathan, Grant and Carsten leading the way. Both Laney and Charlie fell and skinned their knees but they recovered well.
After the hike we drove back to Lyons and went for a picnic in a park right in the middle of town.
The kids had a blast and Charlie and Laney climbed trees!
Below Laney is a Olive Monster.
Saying good-bye on a rainy morning...so sad to see them leave.

Grandkids

We sure had fun with 4 of our grandkids here at the same time...just wish the other 3 (Brenda's) were here as well. Above Charlie and Laney are trying out their new gardening gloves in our back yard before church.
Scott went to the store for beer and came back with Popsicles too. He was everyone' hero!
I love how Charlie has her legs crossed and how the boys still have their tattoos on from the previous day.
Our shoe rack got some good use during the Smith's visit.
The kids eating grandpa's delicious barbecue in our backyard.
Carsten was a good sport letting Laney attack him and was very gentle with her.
Laney had good balance walking along the planter and drinking while wearing her gloves. What a funny little girl she is.

Smith Visit

We had such a great time with Candace, Scott, Charlie and Laney! They were here for 5 days and we spent most of it doing fun things with the Kirkland's. We went swimming, hiking, picnicking, playing in the backyard and lots of eating. The 4 cousins had a blast together and got along very well. I took a ton of pictures and here are a few of them.
Charlie graduated from pre-school the day they arrived and here she is posing with her graduation hat in our backyard.

Carsten and Grant took us to see their "fort" under a big tree near their house.
Grant is a monkey in the tree.

Grant and Charlie leading the way. We made it all the way to the "L" for the city of Lyons on the hill behind Rena and Nathan's house!
Everything was nice and green from all the rains.
Grant and Charlie taking a break by the trail entrance.
Carsten and Grant shared their tattoos with the girls. Here they are all "tatted up" and watching TV in the Kirkland's basement.
