Those Portland girls don't have much snow sense...no shoes???
Making a gingerbread house with my precious granddaughters.
Princess Charlie and Princess Kayta having fun together.
It is wonderful that the cousins are so close in age. They will have such fun together as they grow up. Here Charlie and Katya are coloring together.
So....I know you are all on pins and needles because I have not updated my blog in SO long. It is definitely an adjustment for me to be working full time. I leave at 8am each morning and get home about 5:45pm. Four days a week we get up by 5:15 and go to a local gym. Dennis leaves a little before me in the mornings and usually beats me home by about an hour. (I have to take an hour lunch break and he takes no lunch break.) So, Dennis is on dinner duty most weeknights. We plan our weekly menu on the weekend and make sure he has everything he needs. It's working out well so far. We have also adopted the Dan and Jane rule of whoever cooks, the other ones does clean-up.
Everything is coming along fine with the house purchase. The inspection is done including a separate roof inspection. There is no hail damage which was suspected at first. Looks like closing will be on time on March 7th. Then the work begins; we plan to do quite a bit of painting inside and put in new carpet, tile in the master bath and possibly pergo flooring in the office and sewing room. Also, the master shower needs to be re-grouted. We are excited and hopeful that we will like the house and the neighborhood. I am a bit nervous about living in a 2 story house but maybe it will help us loose some weight. That would be nice!
My job is going well. I am liking it more and more but some days are still quite stressful. I have never been in charge of an office before. Besides my regular work of keeping up on the agents files and other requests I have to keep an eye on supplies and I am the point person when something needs fixing. I like the agents I work with real well and I think they like me. It has been a bit hard for them because they all really liked the gal I replaced. (She got fired...I'm not sure why.) There is only one sort of problem agent that doesn't like to follow the company rules. I will have to keep on her to give me the proper paper-work. They are all very busy agents so that keeps me busy!
Dennis on the other hand is not all that happy with his job but it is serving it's purpose. Since this is a "public" blog I won't say anything else on the topic.
The winter continues to wear on. February had the second most snow on record for this area! They say March is the normally the snowing month--oh no!! I am enjoying it and embracing it. Dennis not so much...he missing his mountain biking.
Rena and Nathan have invited us to join them tonight at a cabin in Estes Park! Their friends Crystal and Robert will be up there also (staying at a different place) and will be coming over to the cabin for dinner tonight. Dennis and I are cooking chicken enchiladas, beans and rice. Then the young-uns are going out on the town and we will babysit the boys. Should be fun!
I'm sure I won't write for a long time since we will be very busy with our move.
Love to all, Dana
