Escrow is NOT closed and van troubles

The adventure continues....

We had a great time last night at Chris and Pam's house in San Jose. Dan, Jane and Katie and her boyfriend Shawn came over and Dan treated to take-out Italian food. Chris is still recovering from her spinal surgery 4 weeks ago. They had to cut through a big muscle in her upper leg for part of the surgery which involved a metal cage around her spine to prevent it from collapsing. She is still in a lot of pain in that leg and cannot bend all the way over yet. She even has one of those contraptions people use to pick up trash that she uses to pick things up. Pam of course is doing a wonderful job of taking care of her and was a wonderful hostess to us. She even made us bacon and eggs and toast for breakfast. Thank you Pam!

We enjoyed the drive today but our air-conditioner wasn't working a couple of times but would start working again. We were thinking that it needs Freon or something. Well, at the last rest stop before we got to our nephew Danny's house, we heard a loud rattling sound. Dennis looked under the hood but could not tell what it was. By this time it was 4:30pm and we were thinking about the holiday weekend ahead. So, we called Danny and asked him if he would call the local Ford dealer to see if they were open tomorrow. They are open and said they could squeeze us in. We will take the van over at 9am and hang out here until we find out what is wrong with it. We may or may not head to Portland tomorrow.

In the mean time we found out that escrow did not close today but the buyers do have all their money locked into the down payment and everything looks good to go for final signing on Tuesday. I am bummed and was really hoping it would close today. Dennis predicted it would go until Tuesday....he was right!

We are having a very nice visit with Danny, Lisa, Tabitha, Tripp and Tab's boyfriend Dave. Jimmy was not able to make it over tonight but maybe we will see him tomorrow since we will most likely be here most of the day or even until Sunday.

I will keep you posted. Love, Dana
